Edge45 Celebrates Partnership with Rowntree RUFC in Their 130th Year

At Edge45, we see real parallels between rugby and our own work in digital marketing: resilience, teamwork, and the ability to keep moving forward when things get tough. That’s why we’re proud to continue our role as kit sponsor for Nestlé Rowntree RUFC, a York club marking 130 years with one of its most memorable campaigns.

A Landmark Season

The 2024/25 season gave supporters plenty to talk about. Rowntree finished the year unbeaten in Counties 4 Yorkshire North, securing 12 straight wins and protecting an impressive home record. They came close to promotion, narrowly losing out to Hornsea RUFC, but still lifted the Yorkshire Vase for the first time in the club’s history.

It was also a year of growth. A girls’ U14/U15 side played its first matches, the squad gained recognition in the YO1 Sports Awards, and the team was featured on York Radio and the RFU’s website.

Chairman Ryan Roodt summed up the mood:
“Going undefeated at home is a rare achievement and speaks volumes about the effort put in by the players. I’d also like to thank those who played before us, who continue to support the club and remind us where we’ve come from.”

130 Years of Rugby in York

Formed in 1894 by employees of the Rowntree confectionery company, the club has been a fixture of York’s sporting community ever since. Today, more than 60 players represent Rowntree RUFC, with the youth section steadily expanding.

To mark the anniversary, the club unveiled a special kit featuring the York skyline. Edge45’s name was carried across the front, continuing our commitment as their lead sponsor.

A Partnership Rooted in Shared Ambitions

For us, this sponsorship goes beyond having our name on the shirt. It reflects qualities we see in our own work: commitment, teamwork, and the part we each play locally.
